The Real Life Diabetes Virtual Happy Hour has brought SO many interesting PWD together. We thoroughly enjoy basic pub talk, poking fun, cracking jokes, live music, embarrassing some of us crappy trivia lovers, etc. Recently I connected with a woman who wowed me with her written word skills.

BIO:

Nichole Acosta is a Brooklyn-based poet, performer, and carb counter. She enjoys bridging the gaps, between page and stage, identity and perception. Her digital poetry collection, “Throat on Fire” was published by The Soap Box Press in June and will be in print later this year.

Her work has also featured in “The Americas Poetry Festival of New York“, “Diabetics Doing Things” and “This Is Not What I Ordered” podcast seriesĀ  “Connect. Politic. Ditto.” and “Light” anthologies andĀ  TheMighty.com.
